Women's entrepreneurship in Kyrgyzstan is gaining popularity and this is not surprising, because women have many qualities that help them achieve success in this field. They are socially responsible, caring to their clients, creative, able to find non-standard solutions, energetic, persistent and purposeful.
Nevertheless, women face certain difficulties when starting their own business. The main factor in the countries of Central Asia is the mentality where a woman should first of all be engaged in everyday life and children. Other problems are access to financial resources and lack of sufficient knowledge in a certain area.
However, despite all these obstacles, women's entrepreneurship continues to develop. Many women successfully open their businesses in various fields, from fashion to technology, and their examples inspire other women to achieve success.
The Entrepreneurship Support Center pays special attention to women entrepreneurs. More than 2,500 women have received consultations, as well as a special grant program “Economic empowerment of women of Kyrgyzstan”, which is implemented with the support and funding of the OSCE. Within the framework of this program, more than 120 women received free entrepreneurship training, more than 100 of them received equipment in the form of a grant for the development of their business. Thanks to the program, support was provided to the participants of Batken and Issyk-Kul regions, and this year the program will be implemented in Jalal-Abad and Talas regions.
